The Art of Coexistence is the Natural History Museum of Tallinn’s new permanent exhibition preparing to open its doors in 2027. Designed by MAST, the experience draws inspiration from Estonia’s bogs and forest trails, inviting visitors to quite literally leave the “hiking” path and discover the unseen. Throughout the exhibition, layered natural materials and textured finishes echo the rawness of Estonia’s landscapes.

Multi-sensory environments that inspire action
The modular exhibition presents Estonia’s ecosystems, from underground fungal networks to migratory birds, as ever-changing, interdependent systems. Each section blends scientific storytelling with intentional design, challenging the static idea of nature as ‘perfect balance’ and instead embracing everlasting change and adaptation. Through immersive installations, the exhibition highlights the emotional and ecological connections between species, encouraging a sense of care, responsibility, and sustainable action.
